The National Trust has a pair of Lumix G9 cameras as well as two G80 kits up for grabs as prizes in this year’s NT Photography Competition. The Trust is looking for images taken at its outdoor places on the theme of ‘Our Space To Explore’ which celebrate your experiences of nature.
The aim of the competition is to find an image that will form a wrap-around cover for the National Trust handbook 2019, as well as the picture that will be printed on next year’s membership card. That means all images should be shot in landscape orientation so that they fit in the intended use.
The competition is supported by Panasonic, hence the Lumix camera prizes. The photographers who shoot the images used on the handbook cover and the membership card will win a Panasonic Lumix DC-G9M camera – which to you and me means the camera body with the 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Each of these kits is worth £1669.99.
An additional prize in each category for the second placed images will be the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G80M – which translated means the Lumix G80 body with the 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
To be in with a chance of winning go visit the competition page on the National Trust website. The requirements for submission, regarding image size and content, are quite specific so ensure you read all the guidelines thoroughly before sending in your images. The terms and conditions can be found here: boiled down they come to photographers retain full copyright of their images but allow the Trust to use them for up to five years only in connection with the competition.
Entry is free, and you can submit as many pictures as you like.
Best of luck!
2019 National Trust photography competition
We’re on the lookout for two special photos to inspire our five million members. Could they be taken by you?
Capture the best of nature this summer for a chance to be featured on the cover of our 2019 Handbook or our membership card.
We want to see your best shots of National Trust places on the theme of ‘Our space to explore’. Whether you love escaping to the coast, savouring the sights and sounds of the countryside or discovering our gardens, this is your opportunity to show us what being in nature means to you.
The competition is open to both amateurs and professionals, and runs from Tuesday 1 May 2018 until midnight on Sunday 2 September 2018. Entries should be submitted by email (below). Our judging panel will choose one photo to feature on the 2019 Handbook cover, and one to feature on the membership card. The winners will be revealed in November 2018.
As well as having their photos featured on the 2019 Handbook cover or membership card, the two winners will each receive a Panasonic Lumix DC-G9M camera, kindly supplied by Panasonic. With the world’s fastest autofocus, it’s the ultimate outdoor and wildlife camera. Our runner-up in each category will receive a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G80M.
