The ‘Best in Test’ award was rewarded from Advanced Photographer, March 2012.
“Performance is excellent, with fine image quality that can stand comparison with anything this side of a full-frame…Image quality is outstanding.”

Digital Photo gave the camera 5 Stars in its Gold Award.

I bought the Lumix GX1 with the new 14-42 “pancake” lens to replace my older Olympus E P1, but the lens is just not sharp. I am beginning to regret the choice now.
I have Firmware 1.1 which is the latest version. The lens works very well on my friend’s G3. The problem is well known out there on the internet.

Will Panasonic be issuing a firmware fix ?

Same here – not impressed with the sharpness of the 14-42 lens on my GX1…and yes I have upgraded the firmware.
