The Fence

Full Size

By timdove

Another shot from Buttermere. Really liked the look of the fence disappearing into the water and thought it would make a good long exposure, especially with the cloud movement, really pleased with the results and amazed I managed a 34 second exposure without any rain.

It doesn’t look like a LE Tim. Must have been little wind. Great shot Tim.

I love how the fence disappears into the water, it leads your eye to the beautiful mountains in the background.

Mark, the long exposures certainly help when the weather is at its calmest…..which is most of the time in the lakes, so tripod essential.

Beautiful countryside and a beauty of a shot. That long exposure has given a lovely ice-like sheen to the water which has added to the overall effectiveness of the shot. Good thinking Tim.

Cheers Andy. Its not often I get to Buttermere as its about a 2hr drive from home, so I was determined to make the most of the weather and the 10 stopper did the job, its a great tool to have on hand. I do love the effect it has on the look of water. I think I’m also seeing the benefits of using lightroom 6…which I love, can’t believe I didn’t get it earlier.

Thanks Eddy. Thought the weather gods were going to be against me, luckily I was wrong.
