I had decided to take Friday off work as the weather pretty grim this coming weekend and it was looking like Friday was going to be a good day. I also thought there might be a little snow on the hills following storm Doris. I wasn't disappointed as they was a fresh dusting in the tops. I headed up Loughrigg Fell near Grasmere, it was a brisk walk to the top but it offers some fantastic view. This was taken looking over Loughrigg Tarn towards the Coniston Fells, with the golden morning light hitting the mountains. It was pretty wet as you can imagine and managed to fall knee deep into a bog....twice. So I had to driver home in my underpants as trousers were very wet and muddy. Luckily I didn't have to stop and get out of the car.....that could have been pretty embarrassing. Definitely going to pack spare trousers next time.
