I had a little free time with my Wife and Kids being away on Friday and most of Saturday. I was desperate to get out with my new rucksack and 12-35mm lens but the Wife had taken the car. So I decided to hop on the bus, well it was about a 3 hour journey and then I stayed in a hostel over night with a rather interesting guy from Sunderland how was going to attempt fell running after being knocked over by a lorry the week before. Anyway, wasn't sure what the weather was going to be like as it had been changing all week. I wasn't expecting fog and mist. It was zero visibility. I thought all my effort had gone to waste. Luckily their was some breaks in the mist and that allowed for some pretty atmospheric conditions....it made the 3 hr journey home more bearable anyway.

I hope I have understood everything correctly. An exciting story you have experienced.
With such a great photo in the luggage.
Congratulations, Greeting Uwe
Thanks Awe, I appreciate the comments and welcome to the community….there a good bunch.
Photographer Me: It might rain. Stay in.
Photographer Me: Light looks flat and boring. Stay in.
Photographer Tim: Car’s unavailable – a 3 hour bus ride to sleep in a hostel all in the hope that there just might be a half-decent photo opportunity even if it pisses down.
And I wonder why your images beat mine hands down. It’s called ‘dedication’, not to mention optimism, perseverance, a good eye and skill. Respect to you Tim. Another excellent image in the bag.
😆 😆 😆 Andy, your comments has just cracked me up – and hubby. Couldn’t have put it better myself.
Yes, well done Tim. I was going to say plenty of good things about the photo, but the back story is something else. Give yourself and well deserved pat on the back. I hope the fell runner survived and I hope too, that you got plenty more cracking images to go with this one. 🙂
Thanks Sarah. Yeah hopefully got one or two others. It was a great morning not only for the weather but also meet a local professional photographer who has inspired me, so spent most of the morning with him….so it was well well worth the effort.
Ha ha. Thanks Andy, always appreciate your comments and feedback. I think it’s called insanity.
What to say about this photo. How about imo one of your best. Like it hit.
Cheers Steve. Yeah must admit I’m very pleased with this one and the whole experience as told above.
A very worthy image from your adventure Tim, great portrayal of the weather conditions.
Thanks Terry, definitely worth it, amazing conditions.
It’s a class image, Tim. I’d be very happy in that lighting and location. A big like it from me.
And enjoy your new 12-35mm 2.8, Looks like your off to a great start with it.
Thanks Eddy, very kind. Yeah first outing with the lens and wasn’t disappointed.
