Ashness Jetty

Full Size

By timdove

One of the many working jetties on Derwent Water, usually this location is best at sunset, so I wasn't sure if this was going to work, luckily the sun rising behind me cast fantastic light on the distant hills, a nice whisp of light cloud and a little frost on the jetty made for a lovely scene.

Another cracking shot Tim, The jetty clearly pulls you into the photo to the lovely reflections of the mountains beyond. Good stuff

Cheers Steve. I do love a jetty shot, bit of a challenge this one as its a bit wonky, think it might have taken a battering after the major floods last year, so it was tricky to get it straight..ish.

Thank you Geoff, I have a confession, I forgot to put the clock forward on the camera….so it should be 6.52am. It was still a 5am start though. It’s not hard work when you get sights and light like this.

Super light and reflections – it’s hard to beat the Lake District, especially on a day like this!

I can’t add anything that’s not already been said, but it’s still nice to hear others appreciate your work/hobby/passion. Nice shot Tim.

A perfect long exposure, and a little mist and cloud to top it all off. Superb! Tim.
