Nice shot, i think the shot angle and crop work well. Makes me wonder what the painted lady’s eyes are looking at.
Thank you, Griffiths_owen 🙂 She was probably looking at two soldiers guarding the Trastevere area against terrorism. Sadly, no joke. I managed to get some video before one of the soldiers started to glare at me. Might try to get a 4K still from the footage.
I’ve been meaning to pass comment on this for a couple of days now, but kept getting distracted. A bit of street art is always worth hanging around to see what opportunities arise. Here just the simple silhouetted figure is all it needs to add contrast to the image, and also the possibility that the mystery figure may well be the subject of the woman’s gaze. The lovely burnt orange tones of the crumbling walls give us a clue as to what sort of neighborhood we might be in. Nice shot.
Thank you, Andy. I appreciate your nice comments. Going to miss this city.
Such a good image, mhunt! Those eyes remind me of ‘1984’ – but here they seem to prick the conscience. That contrasted with the casual passer by, diminished by the cropping, makes for a powerful image. Great colours as well.
Thank you, Don 🙂 Love the beautiful light in Rome. So many photographic opportunities around each corner of the city. Back in the UK now 🙂
Very strong and dramatic. Like it .
Very nice. Really like this shot.
Thank you very much Eddy & Pipschoice 🙂
