This little spider appeared in the kitchen, it kept dropping off the ceiling, I guess because it only had five legs. It seemed agile enough though and was quite difficult to catch up with to get a pic.

What super detail. Someone’s nightmare though! Excellent macro photo.
Fantastic macro shot. The angle and detail, combined in a excellent looking background. Like it.
Thanks for the comments Steve and Eddy 🙂 This spider was actually quite small, about 20mm long at rest. The thing about the 60mm focal length is you have to get quite close to the subject, the front of the lens is 7cm from the subject at 1:1 size; this could be a drawback sometimes, but it does give a nice perspective with this type of subject.
Outstanding. The colours, lighting, composition, sharpness, well everything really – an excellent image. And now I have to add a macro lens to my shopping list 😀
Thank you Cluke. I see you have been doing some rather good macro bug shots too, I would highly recommend a macro lens for this, apparently they have a flatter focus plane than a normal lens with an extension tube or converter on and so give a better depth of field when very close to a subject. I got this lens for very small product photography, but have found myself tempted into taking bug pics when the opportunity appears.
