It's probably the bigger animals that you associate with the mountainous areas of Canada but these tiny Hummingbirds really captured my heart. We stayed for a couple of nights at the beautiful Clearwater Springs Ranch in the Wells Gray Provincial Park - one of the nicest places I've stayed. Dozens of these tiny birds visited the feeders on their terrace every day and I spent hours (and could easily have spent longer) trying to capture them. I'm so pleased that even a few of them are actually in focus, as they move so fast! Incredibly, these tiny birds - around 3" long and weighing around 3-4 g - migrate up to about 2000 miles from their wintering grounds in Mexico.
