This oak is over 200 years old. It stood here when this area was woodland. Then the Great Northern Rail came through, in the 70's the track was turned into a test track for the high speed trains, tube trains and the channel tunnel trains. When the French won the channel tunnel train bid, the track was abandoned. It is now a cycle way (the R54). The oak tree is still here watching the changes which time brings.
