I think there’s too much green on the thorax for a Southern Hawker, looks more like an Emperor to me. Well caught.
I agree with Gerry. There is blue on the upper part of the front abdomen, so Emperor.

There is British Dragonfly Society website british-dragonflies.org.uk Its behaviour has been a bit erratic recently but I have just been on to it. Some good ID photos. I have a guide produced jointly by the Natural History Museum and Field Studies Council which has very good illustrations, I think it costs around £4. ISBN 978 1 85153 863 8. Available on Amazon.
