Took this tonight. Absolute freezing with the wind which incidentally was playing havoc shaking my camera on the tripod. Have been trying for some years to take a decent photo of the moon. This time I removed my UV filter, cranked the ISO to 160 and continued to knock the exposure compensation down even further. When I did this I noticed I saw more detail on the surface of the moon. I used a 45-200 mm lens on max zoom with the digital zoom cranked up to x4. Post processing was limited to a square crop and auto-contrast just to lighten the image slightly.
