Good shot Gerry, I am impressed with a lot of these close up shots of insects that your self and some others have taken,
Think extension tubes could be on the shopping list very soon,
Another corker.
Nice
The mind boggles Gerry . I always thought you needed off camera flashguns and infrared beams to capture a bug in flight . Fantastic , maybe you should do a video tutorial on your bug capturing techniques. A BIG like it from me.
Wow Gerry that is good, I have tried getting one of these in flight but I failed big time! I have ordered myself some extension tubes so am looking forward to getting some closes ups, well maybe!
Fantastic detail and fantastic capture.
Difficult little blighters to capture, you have done well with this especially using the 100-300 with its known auto focus issues.
Thank you all very much for your comments. I never thought ten minutes in the back garden would get so much reaction. There were a number of Hover flies about and it was a case of watching and picking out one fly that hovered in the same place for quite a while and concentrating on that one.
I don’t think Ive got the skill or the patience for that! Lovely shot.
Amazing! Lost for words on this one…
Thanks Morag and Suzie.
A cracking shot Gerry, I like it very much.
Thanks Dean, glad you liked it.
Very beautiful and delicate!
Thanks very much niura.
Ace !
Thanks Jo, appreciated.
Well done Gerry – those little guys are murder to capture 🙂
Thanks John, don’t I know it. 🙂
Well captured Gerry, have never managed this myself despite trying too many times!
Thanks Grant, just got lucky I think.
