I love the colour and composition of this and the processing is perfect. Dynamic liquid abstract and the spray from the blowhole is the icing on the cake. Ace.

    Thanks everyone.

Jolyon, apart from a little sharpening, this is straight from the camera …. never had much processing to do.

Thats why its perfect 🙂 …is there no extra tint or saturation on the blue?

        Hi Jolyon

I have just compared the two pictures, and there is a tiny amount of saturation done and just a little sharpening …. i have posted the video that i took of this same animal in the video section, of this site you can see how blue the water is (my videography skills are a bit ropey, it ain’t my strong point),

      Thanks Gerry,

There is a permanent colony of pilot whales, off the coast of Tenerife, we went watching on a catamaran, The “Chap” who was on board filming the trip, in order to sell DVD’s at the end, even passed me and asked “what is that, a Kalashnikov ?”, as i “burst away at the whales with the G6 …. i do of course have 247 other pictures of various ripples, empty water, and boring “fin” pictures …. but a few good keepers.

Nice One, all soft curves and calm with an dynamic eruption of activity.

Lovely shot, the blue of the sea is so inviting it makes you just want to jump in there.

Well done on getting this Super Shot – Having attempted a couple of years back to Shoot Humpbacks in Alaska i know how hard it is -For me so hard i pretty much deleted them all – I was shooting at pretty much 300 mm .and all i got was bits of Fin and Ripples.

What a wonderful shot, Douglas! Beautifully clean in its capture, and lovely deep blues.
