The lake in the photo was not there 30 years ago but was an arm of the Upsalla Glacier which can be seen to the right in the photo and flowing on behind the hill in the centre of the photo. The 3 white patches between the mountains in the rear are 3 other glaciers which flow into Upsalla which is 6 miles wide and over 40 miles long. The sheer scale was hard to take in and I had to join 3 photos together to capture this view. Needs to be viewed in large image to get the detail.
