X35-100mm Lens Preview – She Said What!?!

Full Size

By BigRed

Taken at the Lumix Lifestyle Photography Group meeting (see Community Forum) with a pre-release X35-100mm f/2.8 lens on my G5 body. Looked at in a New Window (or at full resolution on Flickr) you can see that the X35-100 is capable of resolving very fine detail indeed - and this was a hand held shot.

Looks pretty good, John. Does the price reflect its quality? (or vice versa) I’ve been off the radar for a little while so need to catch up on community “stuff”! I’ve been thinking about the 12-35mm which also has a high price tag. Are there threads about this lens in the community section re quality and value? Sorry for all the questions! James

    Hi James,

From what I’ve seen both the X12-35 and the X35-100 f/2.8 are competetively priced for the quality they deliver and are made to a very high standard and optical spec. A bunch of good, fast primes would still out-perform them but there are situations where a really good zoom lens is the more practical choice. There are full discussions on both in the Community Forum – check via The Knowledge Index if you can’t find them.

    John
