What I believe to be an Austin 7 as seen on the streets of Lewes, Sussex. My dad had one of these when I was but a nipper. Last produced in 1939 (the Austin 7, not me) it was obviously quite an old car by the time I made an appearance, but in the 'old wreck' type of way as opposed to vintage. Probably my dad's first car, so would have been very special to him as a working class young man striving to improve his lot. The Austin Princess Vanden Plas of later years may have had greater creature comforts, but I doubt very much that it ever held the same memories.
