  1. This looks like a simple shot, but I know from experience that getting something like this to work - and to look simple - is no easy feat. The composition works really well for me, with that triangle jutting into the square frame bottom left, and the way the railing leans into the centre with the light picking it out against the sea. The 40-second shutter speed was just right, too, to show us the movement of the water while retaining some texture and life in the surface. I suspect the grain has been added in software, as the shot was taken at ISO 200 - but I really don't mind that at all. The grain works very well, and helps the eye grip the picture even in areas where there's less going on. Great job - I love this.
