  1. There’s a whole lot to like about this picture Robin, and there is so much that’s exciting going on in it. The silhouette works well of course, as we are quickly drawn to it and we can clearly see what it is – the radio I particularly like. It is pretty cool too that we have a reflection combined with the silhouette that adds extra interest and that sense of depth you get with the layers of information. There is a lot of depth in this shot, with the corner and the different distances we get in the glass reflections. The angles of the struts on the right hand side enhance this sense as they lead us inwards from the top of the frame. The colours are very nice too. I love that deep orange shade that reminds me of granny’s carpet and marmalade cats, and the patch of straw-woven yellow in the lower left corner – they contrast perfectly with the cooler shades in the distance, again adding to the feeling of depth and three dimensions. A cracking picture, and one what was well worth waiting for.

Superb image Robin, well done, there’s a story behind it waiting to be told, the walkie talkie suggests something slightly sinister I think!

When images of such quality entered I know I don’t stand a chance of winning.

Congratulations on the win Robin. A shot that demands a second look to work out what’s going on in the apparent multi-layered image obtained by the reflections. Like it.
