  1. I would usually advise against using a very long lens with a shutter speed of 1/50th on a camera with no image stabilisation, but in this picture I rather like the softness the camera shake has produced. I'm not entirely convinced that David created the effect on purpose, but I do know he picked the picture because he liked the way it looks. What I like about it is that the picture is full of atmosphere and a sense of the moment. There is a lovely stillness about the scene, and the softness makes Isabelle's skin glow in the light. Her eyes make an extremely powerful connection with the viewer - and her hair looks amazing. It's a wonderful shot that will remind you far more what she is like in twenty years time than most sharp images could. Beautiful.

The slight softening due to long lens / slow shutter gives a retro effect to this image, enhanced of course by the sepia toning. Well done.
