Faces with Character

Thanks to all who entered the 'Faces With Character' round - I've enjoyed looking at the images submitted. Making a good portrait requires a mixture of skills, probably the most important of which is an interest in people and the way they behave. To show someone else's character in a picture requires us to have spent time working out what that person is like, and then some more time determining how we should show them to the world. On these occasions very often technical considerations are less important than the communication of emotion and feeling, because ultimately we want the viewer to make a connection with the subject through our pictures. So, here are the winners...
