Red hot chilli pepper - smoking! One of my ideas for the photo challenge this month. A work in progress.
I think you have a good chance – your stills are a high standard….
Thanks. I was drawn by the intense red colour of the pepper and using a black background really shows that burning red colour to its best effect. No need to enhance the colour in any post processing. I’m not happy with the depth of field, I think f4.5 is too shallow and I’ll try again with f11 or f16. The smoke is difficult to control so it will be a case of take 30 or 40 pictues and pick the best one.
However, it does show that even the basic version in the G range (the G10) is capable of taking good images.
Colin I agree its a good shot with the kit you have and as you have ideas to improve further that is positive. Fruit, veg, smoke, water drops etc.. is not a type of photography I have tried. I think Im too lazy to plan it. I have seen lots of worked examples similar to your work. Its almost like magic or illusion, and the images are creative, so I do intend to give it a try sometime. I was thinking poached eggs on toast for my food shot. However this could be difficult to perfect so maybe boiled egg and soldiers… I probably wont enter so if you can do a good egg example I would be impressed !
