I decided to work with the lack of resolution that results from using an IR filter. So, here is something with the Orton technique (or a variation of it) applied, with a sepia tone on top. A transformation too far?

Certainly not a ‘transformation too far’ for me – I find this to be a very evocative image! Lovely. I like the trees – that ‘oriental’ feel image you have, but this grabs me more.
It’s certainly a unique image style Donald. The overall effect is interesting but would work better (for me) if a little bit crisper in general with the visual focus (the style in this case) a lot more defined – maybe you could use a radial grad in a layer mask to vary the srength of the sepia?
Thanks for the comments. That’s an interesting idea, John. I’ll try that. I guess, too, that I could Gaussian blur the central component (the style) less.
